What exactly are political forums? It is generally a membership internet site set up to talk over various events, different opinions and breaking news in the field of politics. The better forums are the ones that have no political bias i.e. they are not pro Democrat or Republican but are set up with the objective of motivating open and honest debate with members holding various views.
The owner and other staff on the site must encourage exchange of viewpoints as this will make the site more popular and therefore will attract more traffic and resulting members. But they must also moderate the political forums properly. While arguments are frequent when anyone talks over politics, it must not be a justification for a member to abuse another. The moderator's role in a political forum is to prevent the discussion descending into personal assaults. At the same time they do not wish to cut off an interesting discussion. It is not a simple job but most people can differentiate between someone who is expressing a point of view and those that are merely trying to be troublesome.

Some individuals educate themselves about the various matters and come to political forums to talk about these arguments. They are ready to listen to what the other people consider and will sometimes be convinced by the debate to change their mind on that particular issue.

They might not completely comprehend the reason why they are a Democrat or a Republican but they will defend the policies of the relevant party to the last. These people have a tendency to start quoting the Constitutional right to freedom of speech when you try to argue the point. At times it is pointless trying to get into a discussion with them and the good thing is to leave and find political forums populated with people who are much more open minded.
